Helping Your Pets To Travel

Some of us can’t bear the thought of leaving our pets behind while we are on vacation. We don’t want them to feel lonely or to be taken care of by someone they do not recognize. Don’t worry because you can always take them with you.

First you should ask your veterinarian if they can accompany you. You don’t want to take them anywhere if they are ill. Keep in mind that if the vet says yes that you need to get extra supplies to prepare for it. For example, you’ll need to have all of the supplies necessary to keep your pet comfortable while he’s away from home, and you’ll need to familiarize yourself with any pet-related restrictions or requirements imposed by airlines, destination countries or states, hotels, etc.

If you choose to board your pet, get references and inspect the kennel. Your veterinarian or local shelter can help you select a facility.
